Firth

Geographical Information

The Northern Continent, Eubonia, is the larger of the two. A mountain chain divides east and west, the seven countries of Eubonia fall to the either side of this chain. The mountains themselves form a sort of no-man's-land where goblins, dwarves, and wood elves dwell.

West of Szatmar is the country of Firth. It is a rugged wild country, mainly composed of highlands. The people are divided into clans which are nearly autonomous. While there is a hereditary king, he is weak, and as often as not he stays in hiding since his life is forfeit if, during one of the numerous petty feuds that periodically rock the kingdom, it is decided that his death would be politically expedient. Therefore, the average king's life expectancy is zero, and he tends not to call attention to himself by doing anything inconvenient, like ruling. Many of those who have suddenly discovered themselves in line for the throne after the untimely demise of a predecessor have found it advisable to remove themselves to a healthier climate, preferably somewhere on the southern continent.
