South of Firth lies Shalop. Because it is the only Northern country who worships a female god, the women of Shalop are in a slightly better legal position. For example, they can inherit land and head households, even rule, but only when there is no direct male heir. Hence Shalop is the only country to have a queen. The sea elves live along the coast, carefully cloaked and veiled by magical mists. The second largest stone circle on the continent is located on the southern border and, like the circle of the Wastes, marks the dividing line between two countries.
Shalop's nearest neighbour is Lavanthia which lies on the southwest corner of the continent. Shalop and Lavanthia can boast the largest population of little people, brownies and pix, and for this reason they are considered blessed. A reputation that is more than earned. Of all the northern continent, they are the most stable politically and are peaceful neighbours. Conflict is limited to quibbling over which of the two sovereigns will take precedence during annual Brigitta Day parade, which they celebrate jointly at the stone circle along their common border.
