Shamir

Geographical Information

The southern continent, Daklha is the smaller of the two and is divided evenly into four countries. Except for the far northwest corner, it is mainly desert. Subject to torrential rains in the spring, this portion is covered in dense jungle (made up primarily of Apsu's Coat) that dries up to skeletal remains during the long dry seasons.

Shamir in the southeast is desert and its people nomadic. The largest stone circle on the southern continent lies next to the busy seaside port and capital city. The Emir, from his palace in Al Khali, maintains strict control over the tribal sheiks, their offspring, and their produce. The Shamir are renowned throughout the mortal plane for their excellent horses which are sought the world over. It is said the Shamirian cannot be separated from his horse. Aside from the distinctive horsy aroma, a Shamir can usually be spotted by the straw in his hair. Even the governorship of the country is dependent on horse. Upon the death of the current Emir a race is held. The sheik whose stock (each family is permitted enter one horse) wins the race becomes the next ruler.
